Arsenault Associates has integrated its Dossier maintenance management software with Napa's Integrated Business Solutions program, which should eliminate steps in ordering parts.

Through the partnership, users of parts distributor Napa's system will use the same shop repair order number as the purchase order number for parts. Dossier automatically populates the Dossier database with parts used details, including part number, VMRS code, quantity, and cost. The interface will be available on Dossier 5.1, which is in beta testing.

Napa's program is meant to cut the overall cost of an on-site parts department by reducing inventory investment, lowering the cost of transactions, increasing productivity, and providing single source billing. The new integration streamlines parts management, reducing the time spent to enter data and eliminating errors, the company says.

"Dossier integration with Napa IBS program brings us closer to a long-sought goal: a seamless flow of information through Dossier from the shop floor and outside vendors, from the parts room, from remote technicians, and from rolling vehicles themselves all the way to the executive suite through ERP and enterprise management systems," said Bob Hausler, Arsenault Associates vice president of marketing and technology.

Dossier 5.1, which includes Napa integration, should be available by September.
