OTC has introduced a new video inspection scope that allows for inspection of hard-to-reach places.
Designed with a distal video camera at the end of a water-resistant Staylock shaft, the scope can internally inspect engines as well as other applications.

"This handy tool gives you the edge on troubleshooting, problem solving, and plain old guesswork," said Andy Forsberg, SPX Service Solutions product manager of electronics.

With a shaft only 10 millimeters in diameter, it can reach places normally hidden from sight. This aspect can help when examining the condition of internal combustion engines, inspecting belts for wear and cracking, looking inside engine cylinders through the spark plug hole, and locating bad sensors and electrical connectors.

The unit features a 2.5-inch high-resolution, color LCD screen, which allows users to view live video output from the distal camera. The feed can also be viewed on a larger screen via the RCA feature. The camera comes with autofocus and sensitivity that can zoom in on objects as close as one-fourth an inch.

The system comes with four AA batteries, which accommodate its four hours of operating time. It also includes a protective case, a clip-on mirror attachment that enables the technician to see 90 degrees to axis of the shaft, and a magnetic pickup attachment for convenient operation. OTC offers a one-year warranty on the product.
