Carrier Transicold has launched the new PowerRush Platinum AGM battery, with a longer life than conventional 12-volt wet-cell batteries.

The PowerRush Platinum battery provides 1150 cold cranking amps of high starting power. According to the company, the battery retains 75 percent more power than the typical Group 31 wet-cell batteries.

The battery is made of 99.99 percent pure lead. Its compressed glass mats are packed tightly between many extremely thin plates, ensuring high vibration and shock resistance. The battery has fast charge acceptance, which helps reduce engine run time for recharging and reducing fuel consumption when Carrier refrigeration units are used in start-stop mode.

PowerRush Platinum battery comes with a four-year full replacement warranty, backed by Carrier Transicold dealers throughout the U.S. and Canada.

"High performance AGM batteries have gained popularity in the trucking industry, supporting the increased electrical requirements for vehicle electronics and cab accessories," said Jason Forman, senior product development manager of Carrier Transicold Performance Parts Group. "We're pleased to now be able to offer technologically enhanced PowerRush Platinum AGM batteries for refrigeration units, which have their own unique power demands."
