Fleet Locks has rolled out a one-piece fuel cap lock, designed to help protect the fuel, engine and fuel cap on commercial trucks.

The fuel cap lock can provide protection from stolen fuel, as well as from fuel caps getting swiped, which can cost between $40 and $100, Fleet Locks says. The product can also prevent contamination from getting into the fuel tank. Things such as sugar, antifreeze and mothballs can damage the engine, the company says.

The fuel cap lock is made with a heavy-duty aluminum door that is secured with a strong cam bar lock. It also features a tamper-proof door hinge that cannot be removed. The cap lock comes with two keys and two self-adhesive gaskets to prevent noise and vibration.

The gas cap lock is available in two sizes. The first size fits Freightliner, Western Star, Mack, Volvo, Sterling, International, GMC and Ford trucks, as well as reefer tanks, road equipment and farm equipment. The second size is made to fit Peterbilt trucks.
