Gamber-Johnson has created a mounting base designed to hold telematic units and laptops in commercial vehicles.

The Universal Semi-Truck Vehicle Base was made to ensure mobile systems withstand the pressure and vibration of being in the passenger seat of a commercial truck, the company says.

The base is manufactured with heavy gauge, black powder-coated steel, which can be bolted to the floor. It can be used in Freightliner, Sterling, International, Volvo, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Mack and Western Star trucks with standard seating or air-ride seats. The unit can be mounted in day cabs and sleeper cabs.

The mount requires no drill installation and adjusts to four levels laterally. The Universal Semi-Truck Vehicle Base also comes with the option of mounting scanners, printers or keyboard.

"This mounting solution provides excellent ROI because it ensures that mobile communication systems are secure and properly mounted," said Tom O'Brien, product manager. "By investing in rugged mounting solutions that keep these telematic units secure, fleets can protect their investment in technology."

Gamber-Johnson provides rugged docking stations and vehicle mounting equipment for the field force, government, military, public safety, telecommunication and utility markets.
