Ellen Voie, president/CEO of Women in Trucking, has written a book about her experience getting her Commercial Driver's License, "Crushing Cones: What you should know before attending truck driving school."
Voie earned a degree in Traffic and Transportation Management nearly 30 years ago and has served many roles in the trucking industry, including working in management at Schneider National.
"This book is more than a journal of my training," Voie says. "it includes chapters on choosing a school, selecting the best carrier, and what a potential driver will learn during their training. It also includes diagrams and information that a student must know to pass the written and skills testing as well as the pre-trip inspection."
