Motor Wheel Commercial Vehicle Systems, Inc. introducted CentriFuse Plus Long Life/Severe Service Brake Drums.
Currently available in 16.5" x 7" for axle load ratings up to 26,000 pounds, this brake drum weighs about 25 pounds less than heavy-duty full cast and carries a 10-year written warranty.
The new CentriFuse Plus brake drums are proven to lower maintenance costs and reduce vehicle weight, offering increased fuel efficiency and more revenue-producing payload. In recent fleet testing, CentriFuse Plus lasted at least four times longer than full cast drums, the manufacturer said.
With CentriFuse Plus, fleets now have the option of extending costly brake service intervals. For optimum long life wheel-end performance, Motor Wheel suggests combining CentriFuse Plus with CentriSet long-life, low maintenance hub system.
