Bitzer U.S. of Atlanta introduced the model ECH 209, an electric, horizontal scroll compressor designed for mobile A/C applications.
The compressor's features include a brushless, 24VDC motor (other voltages also available) along with a variable speed controller that is integrated into the compressor body. The variable speed functionality allows air conditioning system makers to vary the compressor speed and minimize the power usage of the system.
The integration of the controller into the compressor body is intended to minimize the physical envelope of the unit as well as to protect the electronics from the harsh environment involved in the over the road as well as off road applications for which it is designed.
The compressor was introduced to the North American market at both the annual Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration and the Mobile Air Conditioning Society Shows in January and February.
