Moniz is retiring after a decade at the helm of Heavy Duty Trucking, a role that expanded to include Bobit’s Transportation brands, Metro and School Bus Fleet. He has worked in business-to-business publishing, specifically in the heavy truck, tire, and automotive industries, for three and half decades.

Diogo joins Bobit with deep experience as a leader in B2B media and client-side demand generation in the fleet and trucking industries. He has led editorial and digital marketing operations at leading B2B publishing companies. Prior to joining Bobit, he led demand generation and content marketing strategy at Truckstop.com and Verizon Connect.

“I’ve been a Bobit reader and advertiser for almost a decade, so I know first-hand how effective this team is at covering the topics that matter to readers and delivering results for marketing partners.” Diogo said.

In this newly created position, Diogo will lead sales, brand, and product development for the newly combined Bobit Fleet and Trucking Group. The group includes Heavy Duty Trucking, Automotive Fleet, Work Truck, andGovernment Fleet, as well as new titles such as Charged Fleet, all aimed at serving fleet and trucking professionals with the information and insights they need to succeed.

“I’m excited to join HDT at time of such dramatic change in the ways trucking professionals run their businesses, and industry suppliers go to market,” Diogo said. “David Moniz has built HDT into a cornerstone of the trucking industry, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to continue his legacy into HDT’s next phase.

“We have a lot of innovations in the pipeline, from dynamic new approaches to storytelling, to sophisticated marketing, lead-generation, data services, and custom content creation for our marketing partners. There’s a lot to be excited about.”

Experience Leading HDT into the Future

Reflecting on his career, Moniz said, “The success I’ve recognized and the people I’ve worked with and the companies I’ve worked for, especially in the heavy truck business, have offered me a wonderful career. Bobit afforded me the opportunity to return to HDT, which is the brand I initially started my publishing career with, and it has been extremely rewarding to finish out these past 10 years with Bobit and HDT.

“It’s the right time for me to hand the reins over to Steve Diogo, who has all the right tools, experience, and insight to take over and define the future of HDT.”

Moniz will continue in a limited capacity during a transition period, including heading up this year’s Heavy Duty Trucking Exchange event in September.

Deborah Lockridge, the veteran B2B journalist who has been chief editor of HDT for more than a decade, will move into an expanded role as editor and associate publisher.

“We’re excited to welcome Steve to the team,” said Bobit Chief Revenue Officer Eric Bearly. “Steve’s unique perspective and experience as a media, editorial, and industry marketing leader will deliver concrete benefits for our marketing partners and our readers.”
